Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment, usually by manipulation, that mainly focuses on musculoskeletal problems.
Osteopaths use their hands both to diagnose and to treat abnormalities in the way the body is working. This manipulation of muscles and joints are designed to reduce stiffness and tension, and so to help the spine move more freely.
Mark has devised his own technique in this type of treatment `Osteo-massage` and this approach emphasizes the relationship between body structure and function, and it focuses on the whole patient (mind, body and soul), rather than just on the symptoms.
Osteopathy & Osteo-massage
Physio-Massage
Physio-massage, sometimes referred to as physio, helps people to improve their range of movement in order to promote health and well being. This can help people to live more independently. In particular, the herapists concentrate on problems that affect muscles, bones, the heart, circulation and lungs. Physio-massage involves a range of treatments, including manipulation, massage, exercise, electrotherapy and hydrotherapy.
Clinical Massage Therapy
Clinical massage, or medical massage, is a form of therapy that is usually not performed in a spa setting, though many spa's do offer deep tIssue and lymphatic drainage. Normally, medical massage is done in a clinic and is for rehabilitation from some form of injury. In most cases, a doctor writes a prescription with a treatment plan. Clinical massage involves addressing the deeper muscles of the body versus a relaxation massage being performed with a very light touch on the surface of the skin.
The effects of massage are cumulative and patients should look to undergo a course of massage treatments to bring the most benefits. Regular massage can have a strengthening and toning effect on the whole body, and helps prevent unnecessary strains and injuries that might occur due to excess tension and any resultant structural weaknesses.
Massage is mainly used for musculoskeletal problems and related pain, as well as stress-related conditions and to promote a general feeling of wellbeing. Massage is also being used for pain relief during childbirth and labour.

Reflexology
Reflexology is a system of complementary medicine that maps out the reflexes on the feet and hands to all the organs and the rest of the body. By applying acupressure and massage-like techniques to these reflex points on the feet and hands, the related body parts are positively affected, and blood, nerve and lymphatic systems are invigorated thus improving supply.
Reflexology can be used as a form of preventative maintenance, as well as to treat specific medical conditions. It is useful in treating arthritis, digestive problems, neck and back pain, migraine, menstrual and menopausal symptoms.
Aromatherapy
Popular because of its non-invasive nature, aromatherapy is used for a wide range of health problems such as anxiety, stress, insomnia, anxiety and stress related conditions. Many people find it useful in treating arthritic and rheumatoid pain, headaches, and pre-menstrual tension. It is sometimes available in maternity services and is widely used in palliative and cancer care in hospitals and hospices. Some people also use aromatherapy just for its relaxation effects.
